I took a digital photography class in high school, but didn't consider photography as a career until part way through college. I graduated high school in 2020, then started classes at Tri-C for an Associate of Arts degree that fall. In my last semester of that degree I was interested in learning more about photography and how to get started. In the summer of 2022 I began an internship with photographer Samantha Ponomarenko.I truly would not be where I am today without her. Samantha was the most amazing mentor and helped my business so much! In the fall of 2022 I started taking photography classes and filed my business license. I graduated in the spring of 2025 with an Associate of Applied Business: Visual Communication & Design in Photography. I have absolutely loved being a photographer and I'm so thankful for all the opportunities and experiences this job has given me.

I met so many great people and got to shoot at lots of new locations. Samantha taught me all about the business aspects of this job along with the photoshoots. It was such an amazing experience! I occasionally second shoot for her now and always have a great time. Even now I still learn a lot from her.
